  • Labels include descriptions and color pictures of all your medications for easy identification.
  • Can be done in 1-week, 2-week or 4-week cycles, depending on your needs and prescription changes.

Convenient & Organized

Medication Strip Packaging

  • Medications are packaged in a strip with dates and times on each package so you know when to take them. A description of the medication in each packet is also included for easy identification.
  • These are a great option for those with many medications or more than 4 dosing times per day. There is no limit to the number of medications that can go in these, and they can be customized to as many dosing times and specific dosing times as you need.
  • These are convenient if going out as each dose time can be separated from the strip and easily taken with you.
  • Can be done in 1-week, 2-week or 4-week cycles, depending on your needs and prescription changes.
  • Are done on a schedule and rotation, and can be set up for automatic delivery!

FAQs

What is compliance packaging for medications?

Compliance packaging — also known as blister packs or dosette packs — is a service where a pharmacy pre-sorts your medications into individual compartments organized by day and time. Instead of managing multiple pill bottles, you simply open the compartment for the right time of day and take what’s inside. It’s designed to make it easier to take the right medication at the right time, every time.

Can a pharmacy organize my medications for me?

Yes. Kipp-Mallery offers compliance packaging free of charge. Our team pre-fills your medications into weekly or multi-week packs organized by date and dosing time, with descriptions and images of each medication included for easy identification. Packs can be set up on an automatic rotation and delivered to your door.

How many medications can fit in a compliance pack?

Kipp-Mallery’s blister packs can hold up to 15 medications per card. If you take more than 15 medications, a second card is used for that week. There’s no limit to the number of dosing times that can be accommodated, making them suitable for even complex medication schedules.

Is compliance packaging free at a pharmacy in BC?

At Kipp-Mallery, compliance packaging is provided free of charge. Packs can also be set up for automatic delivery — also free for prescriptions within Kamloops city limits.

What is a Spencer medication dispenser?

Spencer is a smart desktop medication dispenser that automatically dispenses your medications at pre-set times and sounds an alarm to remind you when it’s time to take them. It’s a step up from a standard blister pack, ideal for patients who want an extra layer of reminders or whose caregivers want to monitor medication compliance remotely.

Can a family member check if their loved one is taking their medications?

Yes. Spencer has a companion app that caregivers can log into to monitor whether medications have been dispensed and taken. This gives families peace of mind when managing the medication routine of an elderly parent or someone living independently.

What is the difference between a blister pack and a Spencer dispenser?

A blister pack is a pre-filled card that organizes your medications by day and time — you manually open each compartment when it’s time to take your medication. Spencer is an automated desktop device that dispenses the right dose at the right time, sounds an alarm, and connects to a caregiver app. Both are available at Kipp-Mallery — your pharmacist can help you decide which option suits your situation best.

Who is compliance packaging best suited for?

Compliance packaging is ideal for anyone taking multiple medications, people who frequently forget doses, seniors living independently, patients with complex schedules, or anyone whose caregiver wants visibility over their medication routine. It pairs well with a medication review and is also available as part of our long-term care services.

Can compliance packs be set up for automatic delivery in Kamloops?

Yes. Kipp-Mallery can set up your compliance packs on an automatic rotation and deliver them to your door on a schedule — free of charge for prescription items within Kamloops city limits. This means you never have to come into the pharmacy to pick them up.
