Rob Caravan is our residential diabetes expert and a Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE). CDE designation is obtained through the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board, which states: “A CDE® has demonstrated a standard of excellence in the field of diabetes education by achieving this national certification”.

Managing Diabetes
If you would like to learn more about your diabetes and how to effectively manage it, please book an appointment for a diabetic consultation. During your one-one-one personalized consultation with Rob, he will:
- Provide general diabetes management information
- Review your diabetic medications with you
- Go over the best way to monitor your blood glucose levels
- Review your diet and give you recommendations for healthy eating
- Review your physical activity and give recommendations
- What to do in the case of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and high blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
- Foot-care recommendations
- Education and training on how to self-manage your diabetes
